My name is Adriana Figueroa, and the community I belong to is the Hispanic community. I have always had great pride in being latina and it is the community in which I have always felt most comfortable. Both of my parents are from Puerto Rico and have passed down many of the traditions that they, as they were growing up, have also followed. Everything from the food, to the music, to the dancing, and language are all things that I feel I have in common with the rest of my latino/hispanic community.

    I love communities that have to do with cultural backgrounds! It's really interesting that you have been passed down traditions from your family, and I look forward to reading about them and how they've shaped you.

    I love learning about different cultures from people's own perspectives and personal stories. The latino community has always struck me as so interesting and I love how important family and community is to it. I can not wait to read your narrative.

    This is an excellent topic, Adriana! You sound like you have plenty of personal experience to draw upon and you've already identified several characteristics that unify the community including the food, music, dancing, and language. Think about the Non Dimenticar essay we read and consider what traditions your family works to maintain.

    Have you thought about what you want to use to fill your research component?
